The Mara River flows from the Mau Forest in the Rift Valley, across 13,500 km2 through Kenya and into Tanzania, before draining into Lake Victoria, Africa’s largest lake. The river is a vital source for grazing animals nearby and, as such, forms an important part of the annual migration route that cuts a swathe through the Serengeti.

April 22nd is always a special day in the Singita calendar, as we honour our environment and take the time to reconsider our role in it, both personally and as a company. The modern definition of “environment” has come to mean more than simply our natural world; it includes all issues that affect our health, our communities and our habitat.
Singita has six different camps and lodges in Tanzania with a common design philosophy but each with a unique style which is complemented by the food design.
For some people, the day begins when the train passes by in the distance or a high-pitched alarm pierces the early morning quiet. They get moving with a cup of takeaway coffee, absent-mindedly scanning the morning paper, getting stuck into their email inbox or dodging traffic on the way to the office.
