Projects like this provide exciting opportunities to people from nearby villages that otherwise would not exist, and encourage them to thrive, both socially and economically.

Onwards & Upwards: The Singita School of Cooking Class of 2016

In the years since the Singita School of Cooking (SSC) opened in 2007, the programme has successfully placed nearly 50 chefs into positions at Singita, as well as the other lodges in the Kruger Park region. The students’ level of expertise upon completion of the course is widely recognised, and a fresh new group of graduates has recently earned their NQF Level 4 Certificate in Professional Cookery.

Cooking Up a Storm at Singita Kruger National Park

From the outside, it’s not much to look at: a nondescript building in the heart of the Singita Kruger National Park staff village. Take a step closer and the sound of pots clattering on iron stovetops breaks the bushveld silence. A babble of chatter and laughter wafts out across the dusty courtyard, as a flash of chef’s whites whips past the screen door.
