Ballooning over a sea of red dunes
Sossusvlei

Namibia is famous for its picture perfect desert landscapes and Sossusvlei is one of the highlights of any safari to Namibia. A never ending sea of red dunes and clay pans is a surreal sight, especially when the light and shadows paint the dunes between sunrise and sunset. Visitors can hike up some of the world’s oldest and highest dunes which can grow as tall as 325 metres. Flying over the dunes on a hot air balloon is an unforgettable experience. Wildlife is scarce around Sossusvlei but hardy oryx, springbok, jackals and occasionally cheetah and leopard roam the area.
