Home to 2,000 giant Aldabra tortoises
Fregate Island

Fregate Island is home to 2,000 free roaming giant Aldabra tortoises and a sanctuary to hundreds of thousands of tropical birds. Sixteen beautifully crafted residences nestle nicely into the coastal line, naturally screened from each other. Fregate's stellar conservation efforts include growing a population of tortoises from 150 some 25 years ago to their current number of over 2,000. The island's sandy beaches provide vital nesting habitat for two species of sea turtle: the critically endangered hawksbill turtle and the endangered green turtle.
