Days 1, 2 & 3. Mumbo, Lake Malawi

On arrival in Lilongwe, road transfer to Lake Malawi National Park at the Cape Maclear peninsula, for a boat trip to the minute private Mumbo Island. Renowned for its' truly epic views, barefoot comfort and relaxed camp environment, each reed-lined tented room has island styled furnishings.

The lodge is located in the world's first fresh water National Park, a perfect restful place to kayak, snorkel, go on island walks or relax on the island's white sandy beach. The lake is home to hundreds of endemic brightly coloured cichlid fish.

Days 4, 5 & 6. Mvuu, Liwonde

After a relaxing morning, transfer by boat to Cape Maclear and then by road to Liwonde. Mvuu Lodge is located in a private concession within the wildlife-rich Liwonde National Park on the edge of the expansive and languidly flowing Shire River.

The lodge's elevated central bar, lounge and dining room offers grand views across the palm fringed river where sightings of elephant, hippo and crocodile are common. Accomodation is in walk in meru styled tents with full ensuite bathrooms. Day/night game drives and boat cruises through diverse landscapes tracking highly endangered black rhino (on a guided walk), the rarely encountered Lichtenstein hartebeest and eland.
