Days 1 & 2. Oliver's, Tarangire

Oliver's Camp is in the remote reaches of Tarangire National Park, close to the Selali Marsh and overlooking Minyonyo Pools. This area attracts a great diversity of wildlife best spotted by game drives and bush walks with highly trained naturalists. Large buffalo and elephant herds forage here amongst towering baobabs, while predators include lion and leopard.

Thatch and gauze "windows" keep the tented rooms cool, while ensuring superb views of the valley's restless game. Each room has a writing desk, en-suite bathroom and indoor/ outdoor showers, perfect to cool off in the afternoons. The main area has a lovely library, bar and dining room with the best views from the deck.

Days 3 & 4. Plantation, Ngorongoro

Visit Lake Manyara where one may glimpse tree-climbing lions and flocks of pink flamingos en-route to Plantation Lodge, overlooking lush rural landscapes. The warm atmosphere has been owner curated, reflecting an appreciation of individually decorated rooms, which open onto fragrant gardens.

One of Tanzania's famous landmarks, the Ngorongoro Crater is renowned for wonderful scenery and thriving wildlife. Large resident herds of zebra, buffalo and other herbivores are prey to the area's supreme predators, lion and hyena. Spend a full morning exploring by game drive on the crater floor, before returning to the lodge for sundowners and dinner.

Days 5 & 6. Nduara Loliondo

Travel through Oldupai Gorge before entering the endless vistas of the private Loliondo conservancy. The grandeur of volcanic mountains, rock fig covered outcrops and undulating grasslands create a sense of space, except that this is home to traditional Maasai herders, their cattle and the migration. Meet the nature-attuned Maasai, learn of their rich traditions and gaze in wonder at their natural rhythym to life.

The seasonal Nduara Loliondo combines intimate yert and canvas tents and embody the nomadic nature and scenery of the area. Guest tents with en-suite bathrooms are furnished with brightly coloured textiles and warm textures of sheepskin and leather.

Days 7 & 8. Safari Camp, Serengeti

After breakfast, depart for Serengeti Safari Camp for an afternoon game. This mobile camp follows the migration and focuses on game drives in search of lions and cheetahs. Meander out onto undulating plains amongst the wildebeest migration, along with vast herds of zebra and gazelle. Combining two luxury mobile camps ensures the best chance to locate the unpredictable migration. 

Effortlessly comfortable, the walk-in tents are spacious with a full size bed, dressing area, flush eco-toilet and safari bucket showers. The camp's well shaded 'mess' dining tent has couches, mobile bar, library and a roaring fire out front for cool evenings.

Days 1 & 2. Gibb's Farm

Gibb's Farm is located in the majestic Ngorongoro Highlands, the 1920's coffee farm has a luxury country inn ambiance, each cottage overlooking manicured gardens into the valley beyond. Rich eucalyptus flooring and beams from the farmhouse complement hand carved furniture, creating an authentic retreat.

Days 3 & 4. Safari Camp, Serengeti

Drive through Oldupai Gorge, the short grass plains and in the afternoon arrive at Serengeti Safari Camp, a mobile camp that follows the migration. Game drives search for lions, cheetahs and meander onto vast plains amongst the wildebeest migration, along with herds of zebra and gazelle at every turn. Dependant on the time of year, bear witness to mass calvings or even the explosive Mara River crossings.

Days 5, 6 & 7. Lamai, Serengeti

Tucked in the Kogakurla kopjes in northwest Serengeti, Lamai is a stone's throw from the Mara River, one of the prime areas to witness thundering river crossings. Too often forgotten when the migration has rumbled on, extraordinary wildlife remain year round, including lion prides, herds of buffalo, elephant, leopard, cheetah and over 300 bird species!

Days 1 & 2. Ngorongoro
