Days 1 & 2. Victoria Falls

On arrival at Victoria Falls, road and boat transfer to the exquisite Victoria Falls River Lodge, on the lapping shores of the Zambezi River. Each luxury thatched tented suite is imaginatively decorated in an African theme, with rich cotton, linen and billowing mosquito netting setting a romantic atmosphere. 

In the distance marvel at the "Smoke that Thunders", spray churned up from the falls itself while in the river watch hippo and crocodile lazing. Africa's Adventure capital, many activities are possible and include a walking tour of the Falls from more than twenty vantage points, sunset river cruise and guided game drives, as well as helicopter flights and river rafting!

Days 3, 4 & 5. Linkwasha, Hwange

A one hour flight lands in the private Makalolo concession of Hwange National Park, where Linkwasha Camp is located. The camp's guest tents are bedecked with an eclectic mix of contemporary interiors with the airy design of the main area featuring an indoor fireplace, generous plunge pool and a multi-level deck for raised game viewing across the plains.

Featuring a myriad of waterholes, enjoy some of Africa's finest game viewing. View resident herds of African elephant with lion, leopard, wild dogs, huge buffalo herds and rarely seen sable. Activities include game drives, watching wildlife from the camp's log pile "hides", nature walks and village visits.

Days 6, 7 & 8. Ruckomechi, Mana Pools

A two hour flight over Lake Kariba lands in Mana Pools National Park. The best private concession in Mana Pools is Ruckomechi Camp, on the banks of the Zambezi and looking out onto the Great Rift Valley in Zambia. The side placed "off-set" meru tents provide the best views of the river with comfortable interiors while the main area features a lounge/ bar, diningroom and large fireplace under the stars!

Mana is renowned for large numbers of hippo, elephant, crocodile and buffalo. On land, predators such as lion, leopard and wild dog are frequently seen. Expertly led game drives, boating, canoeing, walks and catch-and-release fishing for tiger fish are on offer.

With Cape Town a flight away, this vibrant, eclectic city is a destination not to be missed at the end or beginning of this safari! The "Mother City" surrounds Table Mountain and is located on the south western tip of Africa. Take a cable car to the mountain top and enjoy endless Atlantic ocean vistas, amble through the World Heritage gardens of Kirstenbosch or visit Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated.

Days 1 & 2. Ilala, Victoria Falls

The distinguished ambiance and discreet service with a smile add a special touch to Ilala Lodges' charm, with the Victoria Falls at your doorstep! Spacious rooms with richly coloured teak and crisp linen furnishings stretch out on expansive lawns with the local wildlife ambling by (which can include buffalo and elephant).

Activities can include guided walks at the Victoria Falls numerous view points, sunset boat cruises and sublime dining at the hotels' Palms Restaurant. Known as the adventure capital, additional activities should include a helicopter flight, micro-lighting or even white water rafting and bungee jumping.

Days 3 & 4. The Hide, Hwange

After an early breakfast, depart by road transfer to The Hide, a camp synonymous as being one of Hwange's best game viewing camps. Located in the North of the National Park, each of the thatched canvas tents face onto a constantly visited waterhole. En suite facilities include and bath tub, indoor and outdoor shower.

Exceptional guiding standards and up to 4 activities per day ensure the most memorable wildlife experiences and range from bush walks, day and night game drives, "hide waterside sits" accessed through a hidden tunnel and a romantic sleep out at Dove's Nest.

Days 5, 6 & 7. Vundu, Mana Pools

After arriving at Vundu Camp by a light aircraft, unwind under a grove of tamarind and ebony trees. Vundu is simple with all the creature comforts and each spacious thatched tent has en-suite "under the stars" bathrooms. The thatched double storey main area looks out over oxbow lakes and the Zambezi River where wildlife herds congregate in the dry season.

Activities concentrate on expertly led game drives, canoeing and sunset motorboat excursions on the Zambezi River. Lion, leopard, wild dog, buffalo, hippo, prehistoric crocodiles and a wide variety of antelope and bird species are all frequently spotted here.
