Are there a lot of insects?

The peak wildlife viewing months of April through October in southern Africa and July to October and December to March in East Africa occur during the dry season when insects numbers are at a minimum. For those travelling at other times there may be more insects, however, for most, the positive aspects of their safari experience far outweigh any annoyance caused by insects. Any tented style rooms will have mesh windows and the beds will be equipped with mosquito nets. Before dusk, the housekeeping staff with make sure your room is closed up and your mosquito net is down thus ensuring you a peaceful and bug-free sleep.
